A recent visitor recounted to staff her fond memories of a family trip to The Buried Village in 1962. She was 10 years old, and the trip was a big treat, as they had very little money. Her mother was unwell, so father took the children around. When they got back to the tearooms they were all very excited and remember having delicious scones with jam and cream and raspberry cordial. She was delighted to find devonshire teas still being served in the cafe, and was most impressed with our museum and the guided tours.
