 The Buried village is a scenic 15-minute drive from Rotorua city and located along a main route - Tarawera Road. 

Take in the natural beauty of the area as you leave from the city centre and travel southeast along Te Ngae Road towards the airport. At the roundabout, turn right into Tarawera Road and follow the signs for the Blue Lake.

From here, the Buried Village is well signposted. Continue driving past the Blue and Green Lakes towards Lake Tarawera, and you will find the Buried Village on the right hand side of the road.
